Who manages NKU Connections?

NKU Connections is an outreach information program of the Community Connections department. Community Connections also sponsors non-credit educational programs, publishes the University's annual outreach magazine, Engaging with Our Region, and facilitates outreach programs to area P-12 schools. NKU Connect, a single point-of-contact between the University and the public, is managed by Community Connections.

What's the history behind NKU Connections?

In the fall of 1997, NKU's President, James C. Votruba, led the institution through a strategic planning process called Vision, Values and Voices (called the VVV process.) In the community dialogues, community residents consistently expressed their frustration in trying to get information about NKU activities in which they might participate. This feedback added support to the development of Community Connections, which focuses resources to strengthen NKU's capacity to serve the region by expanding public access to education and information. NKU Connections provides the vehicle through which we extend the intellectual core of the University - our outstanding faculty, outreach centers and institutes, academic and technical expertise - to the region in new and exciting ways.

How can I submit an event for publication in NKU Connections?

NKU Connections events are sponsored by NKU departments. We invite NKU faculty and staff to join the NKU Connections Providers Network. As a member of this network, you will receive instructions on how to submit event information online. Events submitted online are published to the web site usually within 48 hours of submission. New NKU Connections events are also posted to the University's Master Calendar at the close of each business day. Please contact us to join the Providers Network.
